The Useful Bit

Travel & stay

Ballybeg is deep in the Wicklow countryside, so a little planning goes a long way. Here's everything you need.

Getting there

Finding Ballybeg House

Roughly an hour south of Dublin Airport by car. The country roads near the venue are narrow and patchy for signal — set your route before you leave the motorway.

The nearest airport, about an hour's drive. Hiring a car is the easiest way to reach the venue and explore Wicklow.

Good to Know

A few questions

When will the formal invitation arrive?
Closer to the wedding. This page is just the save-the-date, so you can plan travel and time off early. The invitation will include full RSVP details.
What time should I arrive?
For the ceremony on Thursday 16 April, please be seated by 1:30 pm. Things start at 2:00.
Can I come for just one day?
Of course. Some guests will be there for the whole weekend, others for the wedding day only — both are very welcome.
Is parking available?
There's parking at Ballybeg but it's limited, so please car-share where you can. Cars can be left overnight and collected the next day.
What should I wear?
Relaxed and countryside-appropriate. It's a Wicklow garden in April, so bring a layer for the evening and shoes you don't mind on grass.
How do I get back at night?
Pre-book a local taxi (number on the Travel & Stay section) or arrange to stay nearby. Rural cabs are scarce late at night, so plan ahead.
Is accommodation provided?
A limited number of on-site rooms are allocated by us directly. Everyone else, see the nearby hotels and B&Bs above — and book early.
